Description A collection of three programmes and prospectuses from various venues in Newcastle upon Tyne, from 1841 to 1989.

The collection includes a programme from "Two Grand Concerts", organised by Mr Carte. The morning concert took place at the Assembly Rooms; the afternoon concert took place "… at the theatre" - no further information is given. Though the programme describes the the times and venues of both concerts, only the musical programme of the morning concert is described.

The concert consisted largely of solo vocal music with a few solo instrumental items. Both sacred music and operatic items were included. The concert featured the following vocalists: Madame Grisi, Signora Ernesta Grisi, Signor Mario and Signor P. Lablache. The concert also featured Signor Puzzi (horn), Mr Carte (flute) and Monsieur Benedict (piano and conductor).

The collection contains a prospectus from a festival "New Audio Works" (1989) and a prospectus from the 1971 Newcastle Festival.
